We had a great weekend at the Wescott house. I started my Saturday morning at 5 am with an hour of prayer at our church’s 24 prayer vigil. It was awesome and the hour flew by. It was very cool, uplifting, inspirational, amazing, you get it.
The weather was really crummy all day Saturday. It was foggy, cold and drizzled most of the afternoon. Paige had her second soccer game and that was when the real rain started . Scott took her due to the weather and they both got drenched. She still had a ball and can’t wait for next week.
Sunday I started the day with a run (7 miles, yeah!) in the fog, a morning at church, Scott went for a run and then once the weather cleared we headed to the zoo. The weather was much nicer and we enjoyed the day out of the house.
Have a great Monday!
Update: Thank you so much to those of you who thought that I had taken this amazing picture but I must admit that I took it off the Internet. I would give you the name of the real photographer but I have no idea where I got it. Oops. I guess I should pay more attention to that and give credit where credit is due.
You all must be thinking….Man, those photography classes definitely paid off. Here’s to the professional photographer that took this beautiful image. Any picture that I would have taken this morning would have been from the perspective of me lying on the ground, gasping for air and water. Not pretty.

This morning, Kristin and I ran at Garden of the Gods. Truly, there is no place prettier. Along with the beautiful scenery you get killer hills and a really good workout. We arrived at the park around 5:35 AM (along with many other crazy runners) and ran for about an hour. 4.80 miles. Not quite as far as I had hoped to go but still a great morning with a fantastic workout under my belt.
I love my Thursdays. It is usually the one day of the week that I have to stay home, get some chores done and enjoy Paige and Mason, without having to get in and out of the car 10 times. Paige has soccer practice tonight and that is always enjoyable and so fun to watch.
I hope you all enjoy the day!

Today was Paige’s first ever soccer game. She had such a blast. At one point, her coach directed her to kick the ball in and instead of kicking the ball, she slipped on it and fell. For one second she looked like she might cry. After the game, she was showing us her battle wounds and I asked her if it hurt. She replied “No! I was having so much fun it never even hurted”. That’s my girl.
5.30 miles.
5:45 am and I are going to become very good friends 🙂 However, I am not going to befriend 23 degrees. She and I don’t play well together.
Another few miles under my belt. And it is only 8 am. Feels good getting back in shape and working off my muffin top. One run at a time, one run at a time. Thanks to Kristin for encouraging me up the big hill. and if you know where I live, you know it most definitely is a BIG hill.
I am looking forward to nice warm weather today and getting lots done around the house.
Have a great day! Enjoy the sunshine (or the snow if you are in MI)

My friend Kristin and I ran 4.72 miles this morning. I met her in front of her house at 5:45 AM and we ran a loop around our neighborhood and finished back at her house. It was a gorgeous morning and the moon was high in the sky over the mountains. She is really great at the uphills and I definitely prefer the downhills. Who am I kidding, Kristin is great at running the ups and downs! She runs circles around me. Thanks Kristin for putting up with my groaning and slow ascents 🙂 Man, the uphills kicked my heiny today. I am starting to train for the Denver Rock and Roll Marathon in October and a few shorter races throughout the summer.
It has been hard this winter trying to find times to run. Scott and I both have really taken it easy and now we are starting to step it up a bit.
Have a great day! We are enjoying beautiful weather!

Home from vacation. We had such a great time in California. We realized that we could definitely be beach people. Our kids had such a blast running in and out of the waves, digging holes in the sand and just being kids. Oh yeah…I didn’t miss the winter weather at all. Not even when I heard that Colorado was being blanketed in feet of snow and roadways were closed. Nope. Didn’t miss that at all. Too bad we couldn’t afford to be beach people 🙂 But we sure had fun pretending. We did miss our mountains and the anti-glam of Colorado. When you visit other places, like Orange County, you realize that we are really laid back here…and I like it.
Here are some pictures from the rest of our week. Wednesday, we spent the day at the pool and then had dinner with pirates. Thursday, we spent the entire day at Legoland and all the kids thought it was the best theme park ever. They were great ages for Legoland. The rides really suited their ages and heights:) You know we are height challenged, right? Sam finished the day at Legoland in the shops (he has been saving his allowance for a while now and had a pretty good stash) and arrived home with a backpack full of limited edition lego sets. He read the instructions all the way home on the plane and has been in his room all day today putting together the legos. Every once in a while he emerges and shows us a creation and then goes back in to create something else.
