Happy Birthday Scott!
From all of us 🙂 We hope that you have a spectacular day! We love you! Thanks for being a great dad and husband!
I couldn’t help but post some fun pictures from years past……way past. I also posted some favorites of Scott with the kids.
High school graduation! You had just turned 18!!! Wow, we look young….
10 years ago. You had no idea what what in store for us?

Love to all,

Life at the Wescott Home
Maybe I should make this a weekly blog…
What? What did you say? It is a weekly blog? Sorry grandparents in MI. I know you like your CO grandkid fix more than once a week. I will work on doing better!
Mother’s Day…
Hiking at Helen Hunt FallsI had a fabulous Mother’s Day. We went to church, for a hike, out to dinner at Il Vicino. The kids were on their best behavior. I could not have asked for a nicer day. I can’t imagine my life any differently. These kids make me a mother.
*****I snapped these pictures of the kids while they were hanging out in my tub. They wanted to try out their swim suits and it was WAY to cold to go outside in the kiddie pool. Of course, Mason only gets submerged in the bath when his casts have to be soaked off so he didn’t get to play in the bath this time. He sat near the edge and still got mightly wet.

The Monday after Mother’s Day, Samuel’s class held a Mother’s Celebration. Each of the children stood up and recited a poem. The had fruit and cookies to eat. Very special. At the end, Sam’s teacher read off some cute things each of the children had said about their mom.
I love my mom because she is so sweet.
I think my mom makes special dinners.
I love my mom because she reads books to me.
Listen to this one. It is so sweet.
My mom is nocturnal. She stays up all night and is sleepy all day.
Hmm, I wonder who wrote that one?
At least he didn’t come up with this sweet message.
I love my mom because she yells at my dad and he obeys her.
Oh, kids say the cutest things.

Alice and Paige have their ballet recital tonight. Their dress rehearsal was last night. I took some video of Alice but the battery ran out and so I only got stills of Paige. She had the audience cracking up. She chose not to dance but to sit on the floor with her head on her hand while the other girls sort of danced around her. It was totally adorable. Little daisies running on and off the stage, waving to their mommies and daddies, playing with their tutus….and right in the middle of all that cuteness sat Paige. It will be interesting to see how she “performs” tonight.
Alice did a great job and I know she will tonight as well. She is definitely our steady child. Bless her heart, she is usually calm in the storm (except when she is the storm). I think that she is especially excited about the stage makeup! She was hoping for eye shadow but unfortunately her mom doesn’t own any. Oh well, she will have to be happy with blush and some lipstick. I think I have some around here somewhere?!??!?
Here are some pics of Paige. I am hoping to post some video of Alice tomorrow, gotta figure out how to do that first 🙂

One of Mason’s favorite spots spots in the house is right next to Sam. Can you guess where?

Yep, playing on the computer. This is the one place where Mason will sit still for more than a nano second. He loves watching Sam play his games.

A very big thank you to Scott’s coworkers. They threw us a lunch party in honor of Mason. It was really kind of them. We are so blessed that Scott can go to work with such awesome people.
Have a great week. This is the last week of school and we are running around like crazy! I am definitely looking forward to life calming down a bit and having the kids home more.
Sam will soon start swim practices and meets every morning all summer long, so we won’t be sitting around for too long 🙂

2 Months Home

I hope all the moms have a great Mother’s Day. Not sure what is in store for me. 🙂 Truly, God has blessed me in so many amazing ways. I really couldn’t ask for anything more.
Love, Jennifer
Happy Cinco de Mayo
Maybe I should be writing this post in Spanish? Okay, maybe not.
Yesterday, Sam and Alice had their track day at school. They both did well and came home with too many ribbons to count.

Believe it or not, Alice and this classmate are the same age. Maybe this wasn’t the best match up 🙂
Today, Paige had a Mother’s Tea at her preschool. It was so adorable. We sat on blankets and the kids had made muffins and chocolate covered strawberries to eat. They each had planted a marigold in a decorated pot and made a homemade card for their moms. At the end, the kids sang a sweet song. Paige sort of hid in the back with her hands over her face but I was thrilled because that is a huge accomplishment for my really shy girl.

After a busy day, she just couldn’t stay awake.
Goodnight,
Jennifer
Carnivals, Tutus, Running, Parties and Tons of Photos
After the race, I met Scott at ballet pictures and helped talked Paige through the pictures. Here are a few pics Scott took before the formal ones. Also one of Alice~she had pictures later in the day. These are their recital costumes.

Saturday afternoon, Kent and Victoria threw us a wonderful shower/open house to welcome Mason home. We had about 70 people at the house and it was a full house! Unfortunately, the weather was crummy so EVERYBODY was in the house, EVERYBODY. It was awesome to see all our friends and family. A big thanks to our travel companions, Jay, Conner and Kyra for driving down from Westminster for the day. It was wonderful to see them! Also, a gigantic thank you to Kent and Victoria for throwing such a wonderful party in honor of Mason. We loved it! I don’t have any pictures because I was so busy catching up with everyone.
Today, the kids sang in church. Sam and Alice did such a great job (as did the other children) :). I was so proud of them (all of them). Paige wasn’t quite ready to stand up in front of everyone and that was okay. We know that she will do it in her own time.
In the afternoon, the children’s choir celebrated the end of the season by going to mini golf. We had a ton of fun and laughed a lot. The kids were so adorable trying to hit the ball. Scott and I decided that Alice was Happy Gilmore. If you were standing anywhere near her swing, you might get whacked. Paige hit the ball like a hammer and quite possible beat her brother and sister with her very unorthodox technique. Sam just hit the ball as many times as he needed to in order to keep up with his friends.

Man, can this guy multitask, or what? This is why I love him so much. He is such a good dad!

The first Wescott family photo.
Kids are in bed, 3 out of 4 sleeping. Relaxing with my feet up, popcorn and a soda. Mason and I are not scheduled to go to Greeley tomorrow but his left cast has cracked so we will wait and see what they tell us in the morning.
Love, Jennifer
This note was left anonymously this morning on our dry erase board. I cried when I saw it. I am glad one of my children feels special. Isn’t that how we want or children to feel?
Update

Wednesday, after school we took advantage of the beautiful weather and hid all the Easter eggs that we had stuffed and never used. Our neighborhood Easter egg hunt had been postponed twice and we finally got the kids together to find eggs. Never to late to hunt for eggs 🙂
Here is Paige putting on knee pads. I love her thinking! Easter egg hunts can get dangerous 🙂
Those casts don’t slow down Mason. He has burned out the knees in two pairs of pants crawling on the tile and cement. If something is in his way, he goes over it!
Enjoy the day. I am enjoying the quiet of a sleeping toddler. For a second at least.
Happy Kids
Remember this….. (warning: this image could scare young children and desperate mothers)

Mason is even joining in! He loves his swing!
